"I was skeptical, but now I'm hooked!"

"Initially, I was not convinced. Normally, I go for teachers
who look like perfect ballerinas and Julie looks more like a
normal adult. But I needed help to get back en pointe.

Julie gave me confidence by giving me targeted exercises and
explanations about how bodies work so I could understand
what I needed to do to be safely on pointe.

I love the details in the explanations and breaking things
down into small steps. Julie's way of instructing, with her
focus on exploration and curiosity with lots of kindness and
humour, very calming and motivating. I am hooked!"
"I thought serious ballet study wasn't an option for me"

“At the end of 2021 (30+ years after my last class!), I was
thrilled to find an adult studio ballet class but it wasn't
what I hoped it would be.

It was fun but there wasn't much serious instruction or
guidance--mostly just going through the motions. Our teacher
even laughed when a student asked about going en pointe!
This left me with the impression that serious ballet study
wasn't an option for me anymore.

Shortly after, I discovered Broche Ballet. Signed up
immediately and have been working on my own through the
class library for the past ~2 years”
"I NEVER thought it would happen"

"When I first put pointe shoes on I couldn't get over it how
beautiful those shoes were. Putting them on was magical,
exciting, and terrifying at the same time.

Pointe is the pinnacle; the magic of ballet! Three years ago
this was just a dream. I NEVER thought it would happen. I
thought I was a beginner and too old.

But Julie and the inspiration of other Broche ballerinas
made the impossible possible. Go for it! Even though I am
still very much a beginner in the ballet world, I now
					consider myself a real ballerina."
"My husband has noticed my newfound joy"

"I am a nearly 60-year-old who has spent most of my career
focusing on making technology accessible to people with
disabilities. I left the 9-to-5 job and this has given me
time to explore things I've always wanted like learning
					ballet.

I always admired the art but struggled to attend [studio classes] more than once a week and wanted more help. I stumbled upon
Broche Ballet and was thrilled to find both live and recorded
					classes.

Initially, I was worried that I couldn't keep up or that my
chronic health conditions would pose challenges. After
trying the free recorded classes I realized Broche Ballet
catered to all levels and needs. Julie's warm welcome, clear
instructions, and passionate teaching inspired me to take
					the plunge.

Over the past five months, I've learned to do things that I
couldn't before. I feel like I'm dancing! I am surprised at
how easily I've learned in a virtual environment. Julie goes
out of her way to demonstrate from different angles and
describing how to correct the tiniest of body movements so I
					can self-correct.

I feel stronger with improved posture, balance, and core
strength. My husband has noticed my newfound joy and is
happy I've found such an uplifting group to dance with.
 I wholeheartedly recommend Broche Ballet."
