About This Program
Take your technique to the next level with the Advanced Turns Program at Broche Ballet. Designed specifically for adult dancers who have mastered the fundamentals, this Level 4 curriculum focuses on the precision, strength, and artistry required for complex ballet rotations. Over the course of 53 specialized videos and more than 20 hours of instruction, you will dismantle the mechanics of advanced turns and rebuild them with professional-grade stability.
A Comprehensive Curriculum for Advanced Dancers
The journey begins at the barre, where you will master the flic flac—an essential coordination exercise that sharpens your footwork and prepares the body for high-speed rotations. You will also practice en dehors and en dedans pirouettes at the barre. This controlled environment allows you to find your vertical axis and refine your relevé and passé placement before moving into the center.
Transitioning to Multiple Rotations
One of the most challenging transitions for an adult dancer is moving from single to double pirouettes. This program provides a clear roadmap for this progression. You will learn specific strategies for 'training the brain' to handle increased velocity and how to use a deep plié to generate the necessary momentum without sacrificing your alignment.
Mastering Iconic Center Combinations
As you progress through the modules, you will tackle the most demanding vocabulary in the ballet canon:
- Fouetté Turns: Learn the power, rhythm, and balance needed to sustain these iconic sequences.
- En Dedans Attitude & Arabesque Turns: Refine your line while turning in these elegant, challenging poses.
- Complex Adagio: Practice maintaining control during slow, sustained turning sequences that require immense core strength.
Strength, Conditioning, and Spotting
To support your technical growth, this program includes Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) exercises and theraband work. These cross-training sessions target the specific muscles needed for a stable retiré and a powerful push-off. Additionally, we dive deep into advanced spotting techniques, ensuring you maintain clarity and prevent dizziness during complex diagonal sequences. Join us at Broche Ballet to achieve your turning potential and transform your dance practice.
