About This Program
Redefining Turnout for the Adult Dancer
Turnout is the defining characteristic of classical ballet, yet it is often the most misunderstood. Many adult dancers believe that perfect turnout is a matter of luck or innate flexibility. In reality, functional turnout is a harmonious balance of strength, flexibility, and precise alignment. The Total Turnout Transformation program at Broche Ballet is designed to help you move beyond the "flat feet" myth and develop a sustainable, powerful rotation that originates from the hips.
A Structured 8-Week Curriculum
This comprehensive program spans over 50 hours of instruction, divided into an 8-week core journey with additional specialized modules. We begin by deconstructing the anatomy of rotation, teaching you how to align your lower back, pelvis, knees, and ankles. You will learn that turnout is not a static position to be held, but an active force—an oppositional torque that provides the stability needed for pirouettes and the power required for sautés.
Each week features four targeted videos that blend conditioning with technique. From "Turnout & Torque" floorwork sessions to intensive barre combinations, you will build the muscular endurance necessary to maintain your rotation throughout a full class. We also include deep dives into specific movements like the tendu, passé, and relevé, ensuring that your new-found range translates directly into better dancing.
Safe Progress for Every Body
At Broche Ballet, we prioritize longevity and joint health. This program teaches you how to maximize your natural range without "screwing" into the floor or placing undue stress on the knees. Whether you are a beginner looking to understand the basics or an intermediate dancer refining your standing leg stability, this program empowers you to dance with more confidence, artistry, and physical ease. You don't need flat turnout to start; you just need the willingness to learn how your body moves.
