About This Video
Refine your technique and build professional-level stability with our Intermediate Ballet Pointe class. At Broche Ballet, we believe that intermediate work is the bridge where true artistry meets technical precision. This session is specifically designed for dancers who are ready to move away from the security of two hands on the barre and begin testing their balance and strength in more complex combinations.
Throughout the class, we dive deep into the mechanics of proper turnout and core engagement. One of the primary focuses of this session is the transition from the barre to the center. By utilizing a single hand on the barre, you will learn how to maintain your center of gravity while performing demanding movements like the passé and échappé.
We place a heavy emphasis on the role of the hip muscles, exploring how to engage the deep rotators to not only maintain turnout but also to generate the necessary power for turns. Our instructor provides unique visualizations to help you internalize complex physical concepts. Learn the 'string-like action' of pulling up and forward toward the barre, a technique that prevents the common mistake of leaning back or away during preparation.
We break down the mechanics of the plié, ensuring that every bend of the knees serves as a functional spring for your next relevé or pirouette. By mastering the press-forward action in your plié, you will find a new level of control and height in your pointe work. In the center portion of the class, we apply these barre-refined skills to movements such as su-su and pirouette preparations with a focus on 'locking in' the hip at the peak of the movement.
Whether you are practicing in a home studio or a professional space, this Broche Ballet class provides the technical corrections and encouragement needed to elevate your dancing en pointe.
