About This Video
Elevate your practice with this sophisticated 44-minute Advanced Ballet Barre session at Broche Ballet, where we bridge the gap between technical strength and artistic expression. This class is meticulously designed for advanced dancers who are ready to master the intricate coordination of the upper body, specifically focusing on head placement and épaulement. Throughout this practice, you will be guided through a series of complex barre exercises, including tendu, fondu, and développé.
The primary objective is to develop a seamless flow between the movement of the limbs and the positioning of the head and shoulders. We delve deep into the mechanics of the temps lié, emphasizing that for a perfect execution, the hand, knees, and head must arrive at their positions simultaneously. This level of synchronization is what separates a proficient dancer from an exceptional one.
Special attention is given to the cambré and allongé. You will learn how the port de bras and head movement should anticipate and follow the torso’s path. In the front positions, we focus on the lift of the chin and hand together, while in the back positions, we explore how the cambré push drives the body into a deep fondu.
We then use the allongé to find the necessary lift to recover with grace and control. By the end of this class, you will have a better understanding of how to use your gaze and upper body to enhance your lines and musicality. At Broche Ballet, we believe that the barre is the foundation of all artistry.
Join us for this challenging session to refine your timing, improve your alignment, and bring a professional level of coordination to your daily practice. This class is perfect for those looking to add a layer of sophistication to their technique.
