About This Video
Elevate your strength and precision with "Fabulous 15," a high-intensity, 15-minute nonstop pointe conditioning class from Broche Ballet. Designed specifically for dancers who want to maximize their time at the barre, this follow-along session focuses on the fundamental mechanics that build a powerful and stable foundation en pointe. This is not just a simple warm-up; it is a dedicated conditioning circuit created to improve your articulation and endurance through repetitive, targeted movement.
This workout begins with parallel exercises, alternating between demi-pointe and full pointe to wake up the metatarsals and improve foot articulation. You will progress through a series of demanding exercises, including demi-plié on one leg and sustained relevés in first position. The instructor provides meticulous guidance on alignment, encouraging you to keep your inner thighs engaged and your posture tall as you transition between feet.
To increase the difficulty and improve spatial awareness, you will practice relevés while looking to the right, left, and center, challenging your equilibrium and core stability. One of the highlights of this session is the focus on balance and weight distribution. You will be challenged to hold your position en pointe with one arm off the barre, testing your core stability and ankle strength.
The routine also incorporates piqué sous-sus and intricate pas de bourrée, ensuring that your footwork remains sharp and controlled. Emphasis is placed on taking weight forcefully through the shoe without buckling, a critical skill for safe and confident pointework. Safety and recovery are just as important as the workout itself.
The class concludes with a specialized cool-down, featuring internal rotation stretches and ankle rocking to release tension in the outside edges of the feet and the lower legs. Whether you are looking to supplement your regular ballet classes or need a quick pre-performance routine, the Fabulous 15 provides a comprehensive approach to pointe conditioning. Join us at Broche Ballet to refine your technique and build the endurance necessary for advanced ballet repertoire.
