About This Video
Welcome to this vibrant beginner center practice at Broche Ballet. In this session, we transition away from the support of the barre to find our balance and artistic voice in the center of the floor. This class is specifically designed to help beginners bridge the gap between technical repetition and the expressive joy of dance.
' You will learn how to properly execute four balancés, paying close attention to your footwork and the lift in your chest. One of the unique aspects of this lesson is learning how to use the moments between steps. ' We encourage you to use this time to match the music, adding emphasis and emotion to your movement.
Throughout the combinations, we incorporate the pas de bourrée and arabesque to build strength and stability. You will practice sweeping movements that involve the whole body, from the tips of your fingers down to your toes. We focus on details such as the position of the pinky and the opening of the chest to ensure your lines are clean and expressive.
The class concludes with big, energetic sweeps and a dramatic révérence to celebrate your hard work. Even after the music stops, we encourage you to hold your pose with confidence, imagining the applause of a virtual crowd. Ballet is a discipline that requires dedication, but it is also meant to be play.
By focusing on both technique and drama, you will develop a well-rounded approach to center work that feels both professional and fun. Join our community and let your artistic personality shine through every plié and arabesque.
