About This Video
Elevate your ballet training with the "Fabulous 15," a high-energy, nonstop follow-along pointe conditioning class designed by Broche Ballet. This intensive session is crafted for dancers who want to build significant strength, improve foot articulation, and refine their technique while en pointe. Whether you are looking to supplement your regular classes or need a quick workout to keep your feet in performance shape, this sequence provides a comprehensive challenge.
The session begins with fundamental warming exercises, including prances in first and second position and struts to wake up the muscles of the feet and ankles. You will progress through a series of demi-pliés and stretches, focusing on the roll-up to the box. This ensures that you are working through the shoe correctly, maintaining proper alignment from the toes through the hips.
As the workout intensifies, we incorporate tendu and dégagé movements to sharpen your speed and precision. You will work on pressing over the shoe and finding your turnout, particularly during the second position segments. The class also features sustained relevé sequences—performing up to 16 repetitions in first position—to build the endurance necessary for longer variations.
" We practice sous-sus and passé positions, challenging you to find your center with one or even no hands on the barre. The sequence concludes with more dynamic movements, including piqué sous-sus, tombé, and pas de bourrée, allowing you to practice weight transfers en pointe. By the end of this session, you will have worked through every aspect of pointe technique, finishing with a necessary arch or calf stretch to promote recovery.
Consistency is key in ballet; adding this conditioning routine to your weekly schedule will help you feel more secure and powerful in your pointe shoes.
