About This Video
Welcome to an intensive 45-minute intermediate pointe session with Broche Ballet. This class is specifically designed for dancers who have established a solid foundation en pointe and are ready to challenge their stability and technical execution. We begin at the barre with a critical transition from two-hand to one-hand support.
This shift forces a deeper engagement of the core and requires more precise alignment over the box of the pointe shoe, effectively preparing you for the freedom of center work. Our barre sequence includes essential warming and strengthening exercises such as tendu and fondu to ensure the ankles, feet, and legs are fully prepared for the increased demands of intermediate combinations. We focus heavily on the quality of the relevé and the control of the plié, ensuring that every movement is deliberate.
By reducing reliance on the barre, we build the functional strength and muscle memory necessary for the center portion of the class. Once we move to the center, the challenge increases as we tackle combinations featuring balancé and tombé movements. These steps require a keen sense of weight placement and fluidity, demanding that the dancer remains balanced while moving through space.
We also dive into pas de bourrée and pirouette turns, where spotting and core stability become paramount for successful revolutions. You will work on maintaining your turnout and line in first and second arabesque, while practicing smooth transitions through passé and sous-sus. Throughout this practice, our instructors provide detailed cues on movement quality and execution.
We emphasize precision over speed, encouraging you to find your vertical balance in every pose. Whether you are working on your promenade or refining your adage movements, this class offers the tools to enhance your artistry and technical prowess. Join us at Broche Ballet to take your pointe work to the next level, developing the strength, flexibility, and confidence needed for advanced classical repertoire.
