Throughout this 35-minute class, we dive deep into the mechanics of power and control. We start with foundational plié sequences to warm up the joints before transitioning into more complex movements. A major focus of this class is the execution of grand battement.
You will work through various combinations, practicing how to initiate the movement from a failli or envelopé, ensuring your legs reach their peak height while maintaining a stable core and a grounded standing leg. Another technical highlight involves our work with fondu. In this speed-focused format, the temptation is often to rush the closing of the leg.
However, we emphasize keeping the knee open and turned out as long as possible to maintain proper alignment and prevent 'crossing' the midline prematurely.
