About This Video
Bring the joy of the holidays to your home studio with our Fabulous 15 ballet pointe conditioning class. This unique session at Broche Ballet is designed for dancers who want to maintain their strength and foot articulation while getting into the festive spirit. Set to a medley of beloved Christmas carols, this nonstop workout ensures you stay warm, focused, and strong during the holiday season.
The class begins with intensive footwork, focusing on the transition between flat, demi-pointe, and full pointe. By working through these positions, you will improve your metatarsal strength and ankle stability. The sequence moves quickly into plié and relevé combinations at the barre, challenging your balance and control.
You will also practice rolling through the feet from demi-plié to full pointe, an essential skill for smooth transitions and injury prevention in pointe work. As the Christmas music continues, the exercises increase in complexity. You will work on sous-sus, piqué, and tombé sequences, integrating the fluidity of a waltz with the technical precision required for dancing en pointe.
The class also includes a beautiful adagio section and a snowflake waltz, allowing you to work on your port de bras and upper body expression alongside your footwork. Whether you are preparing for a holiday performance or simply want to keep your feet pointe-ready over the winter break, this conditioning video offers a comprehensive and encouraging workout. Our instructor guides you through every step, offering tips on alignment—such as keeping your heels forward and knees back—and ensuring your shoulders and elbows remain relaxed even as the work intensifies.
