About This Video
Join Broche Ballet for an intensive "Fabulous 15" session, a dedicated 15-minute ballet class designed specifically for dancers looking to enhance their pointe work. This follow-along conditioning routine is perfect for those days when you need a quick yet effective workout to maintain foot strength, ankle stability, and technical precision. Whether you are at home or in the studio, this class provides the structure you need to refine your movement en pointe.
The session begins with a focused parallel warm-up, utilizing prances on the box to gradually wake up the intrinsic muscles of the feet. We then transition into essential exercises such as plié stretches and relevé patterns. A key focus of this class is the pas de cheval combined with fondu, a movement that encourages both flexibility and strength through the metatarsals.
You will practice rolling through the shoe with control, ensuring that every transition from demi-pointe to full pointe is fluid and supported. As we progress, we delve into more complex movements like piqué sus-sous and cou-de-pied work. These exercises are vital for developing the balance and alignment necessary for advanced center work.
You will be encouraged to pay close attention to your placement on the box, avoiding knuckling or sitting in your shoes. We also focus on the passé position, working on the explosive power of a relevé from a deep plié while maintaining a lengthened back and square hips. To conclude the workout, we integrate a series of stretches specifically designed for the needs of a pointe dancer.
By pressing over the top of the shoe and stretching the calves and back, you will ensure your muscles recover properly and stay supple. This comprehensive approach to conditioning at Broche Ballet helps you build the fire in your feet while keeping your technique safe and elegant.
