About This Video
Elevate your ballet practice with this comprehensive intermediate pointe class from Broche Ballet. Specifically designed for dancers who are ready to move away from the stability of the barre and into the challenge of the center, this session offers a perfect balance of technical conditioning and artistic expression. The class structure is divided into a focused 10-minute barre warmup followed by 30 minutes of rigorous center work, ensuring your feet and ankles are properly prepared for the demands of dancing en pointe.
We begin at the barre with essential exercises like demi-plié and tendu to build the necessary heat and flexibility in the ankles. A key focus of this session is the "long toe" technique; by keeping the toes stretched and long during pliés, you create a more stable base for your relevé. You will also practice the passé movement, learning to stretch the ankle of the standing foot immediately upon pushing off the floor to achieve a clean, professional line.
Moving into the center, the class shifts focus toward stability and fluid movement. You will work through adagio sequences that challenge your core strength and control. We incorporate port de bras to ensure your upper body remains graceful and integrated while your legs execute demanding steps.
The curriculum covers a variety of intermediate combinations, including tombé, pas de bourrée, and fouetté movements. One of the most valuable aspects of this lesson is the emphasis on landing. The instructor provides detailed feedback on how to prepare your feet in the air to ensure every landing is confident and silent.
Whether you are working on your sous-sus or perfecting a complex combination, this class provides the technical cues needed to refine your artistry. By the end of this 40-minute session, you will have a deeper understanding of how to maintain your center of gravity and execute complex pointe work with grace.
