About This Video
Start your day on a high note with our Beautiful Bach Follow-Along Warmup. At Broche Ballet, we believe that a consistent daily routine is the foundation of technical progress and physical well-being. This short, two-minute class is designed to help you transition into your dancing body through gentle, fluid movements set to the timeless music of Johann Sebastian Bach.
The session begins with fundamental plié and grand plié exercises. These foundational movements are essential for warming up the joints and lengthening the muscles. You will be guided to hold your grand plié for a moment at the bottom of the movement, allowing for a deep, mindful stretch.
As you rise and lower, focus on the alignment of your knees over your toes and the engagement of your core. Transitioning from the legs to the upper body, we incorporate expansive arm stretches. Reaching your arms all the way up and opening through the chest helps to create space in the torso and improve your overall posture.
This integration of the upper and lower body is a key component of classical ballet technique. The warm-up also addresses the health of your feet—the dancer's most important tool. We include specific exercises to stretch the feet individually through controlled pliés.
By focusing on one foot at a time, you can better monitor your articulation and ensure you are working through every part of the metatarsal. We conclude by turning the legs into a parallel position for a final, grounding stretch that targets the hamstrings and lower back. Whether you are an intermediate dancer preparing for a full barre or a beginner looking for a soft introduction to movement, this Bach-inspired warm-up offers a moment of calm and focus.
It is the perfect way to loosen up tight muscles, improve flexibility, and connect with the musicality that makes ballet so unique. Join our Broche Ballet community and make this beautiful sequence a staple of your daily practice.
