About This Video
Elevate your technique with the "Fabulous 15" follow-along ballet pointework session at Broche Ballet. Designed for the dancer on the go, this nonstop workout focuses on building the strength, flexibility, and stability required for beautiful and safe work en pointe. Because this is a follow-along format, there is no memorization required—simply step into your pointe shoes and follow the instructor through a series of rigorous yet rewarding exercises.
The class begins with essential foot articulation exercises at the barre. You will work through demi-plié and tendu sequences, focusing carefully on the transition between the demi-pointe and full pointe positions. We incorporate flexes and circles to activate the small muscles of the feet and ankles, ensuring your turnout is engaged from the heels up as you rise.
As the session progresses, we delve into more advanced footwork. You will explore challenging movements like separating the feet from the front to stretch the arches and improve the line of the foot. The workout includes rolling through the box of the shoe, single-leg relevé preparations, and practicing your passé and retiré positions.
These exercises are specifically designed to help you find your center and maintain balance even as your feet become fatigued. To finish, we pick up the tempo with piqué work. These quick-fire movements challenge your coordination and speed, helping you transition smoothly between steps like the piqué and roll down.
Whether you are balancing in a sous-sous or holding a retiré balance, this class provides the perfect environment to refine your placement and ankle stability. At the end of the session, a thorough shake-out of the feet ensures you leave the workout feeling strong and energized. At Broche Ballet, we believe that consistent, focused practice is the key to mastering ballet technique.
