About This Video
Prepare your feet for the demands of classical dance with our Fabulous 15 routine at Broche Ballet. This 15-minute nonstop pointe warmup is designed specifically for dancers who need an efficient yet comprehensive way to wake up their muscles and find their center before a full class or rehearsal. We believe that the foundation of strong pointework lies in the meticulous details of the warmup, focusing on articulation, alignment, and functional strength.
The session begins with careful foot articulation, moving through demi-plié and stretching the foot to the full pointe position. This process increases blood flow and ensures every joint in the foot and ankle is ready for weight-bearing movements. You will work through ankle circles and flexions to loosen any tightness before moving to the barre for foundational work.
Our routine incorporates plié in first position, focusing on the roll-up and roll-down through the shoes to engage the core and stabilize the legs. One of the most critical aspects of pointework is the placement of the foot within the box; during these exercises, we emphasize pressing the pinky toe forward to maintain a square, supported position. As the tempo increases, you will transition into more dynamic movements including relevé, tombé, and pas de bourrée.
We challenge your stability with sequences of sous-sus and cou-de-pied, allowing you to choose a pace that matches your current comfort level. The workout culminates in passé movements, where you will practice lifting from a flat foot or a plié directly into a high relevé. Whether you are an intermediate student or an advanced dancer, this video provides the necessary structure to maintain your technique and prevent injury.
