About This Video
Welcome to Class 13 of the Broche Ballet Winter 2024 Beginner Pointe Program. As we enter the home stretch of this 16-week journey, this checkpoint class is specifically designed to test your stamina and refine your technical execution. In this 57-minute session, we move beyond basic drills to focus on the fluidity of movement and the confidence required to link steps together seamlessly.
The class begins at the barre, where we revisit the fundamentals of alignment and engagement. You will practice a series of exercises focusing on the plié and relevé, ensuring that every rise is supported by strong glutes and a stable core. A significant portion of this lesson is dedicated to mastering the transition from one position to another.
We break down the push, slide, and scoop mechanics that are essential for moving gracefully en pointe, particularly in steps like the pas de marie and échappé. One of the core challenges of this class is the sequence work. The instructor guides you through increasingly complex combinations that integrate cou-de-pied, fondu, and sous-sous.
By layering these movements, you will build the muscle memory needed for more advanced choreography. We emphasize the scoop into sous-sous, teaching you how to bring the feet together sharply and securely. As this is a fast-paced strengthener, expect an intense combination toward the end of the session that utilizes everything you have learned over the past twelve weeks.
This is your opportunity to gauge your progress and identify areas that may need extra review. Whether you are working on your push off the floor or the precision of your cou-de-pied relevé, this class provides the expert guidance necessary to elevate your ballet practice safely and effectively.
